As part of its mission to help foster a stronger industry, the Motion Picture Industry Institute conducts research in order to develop better industry standards and practices for the entire movie-making process from story development, through finance and production, to final marketing and distribution, including film theory and criticism.
This research ranges from survey and interview, to collecting and evaluating statistical data, to field testing, as well as piloting and experimenting with new processes. While we don’t endorse specific products or services, we often work in conjunction with the major industry guilds, unions, trade associations, universities and companies in the industry.
